Custom Fabrication of a Vacuum Chamber for the Plastic Industry
Numerical Concepts was approached by a customer in the plastic industry to custom fabricate a vacuum chamber utilizing a CNC flame cutter, we cut all the parts form A-36 steel plate. All plates had weld preps machined as needed. Next all of the parts were welded together forming a 60" x 90" x 120' high chamber. Next the unit was stress relieved and came back for the final machine work. The finished product was machined on all sides for O-ring sealed surface finishes. Faces were held flat and parallel with numerous bored and tapped holes. We were able to hold tolerances of ±.001 throughout the finished product
